HOLD onto your legwarmers and dust off that neon windbreaker—because this December, the Sharks rugby team aren’t just tackling tries… they’re tackling time travel.

Durban is about to get totally tubular as The Sharks team up with FX1 Production and Media to host a once-in-a-lifetime musical time warp: Icons of the 80s – LIVE in Concert.

On December 6, Hollywoodbets Kings Park will trade rucks and scrums for synths and shoulder pads, when four of the biggest legends of the 80s strut onto the stage for one night only.

The lineup?

Rick Astley – He’s never gonna give you up, and now he’s never gonna let Durban down.

Kylie Minogue – She’ll get you doing the Locomotion faster than a line break.

Billy Ocean – Get outta your dreams and into the car… headed straight to Kings Park.

Sonia – Pop princess power incoming.

Dave Claxton, Sharks events manager said they were thrilled to be partnering with FX1 Production & Media to host the Icons of the 80’s concert at Hollywoodbets Kings Park.

"Bringing world-renowned artists like Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Billy Ocean and Sonia to Durban is a privilege, and we are committed to working closely with the promoters to deliver an unforgettable, world-class event.

“December is a month filled with festive cheer and corporate celebrations, and this concert promises to be the ultimate experience for fans and businesses alike. With hospitality packages also available, we are excited to welcome thousands of fans to enjoy an iconic evening in our city,” said Claxton.

Roddy Naidoo of FX1 Production and Media said due to hardly any concerts that happen in Durban, they have taken the liberty of bringing four iconic stars to the city as a benefit concert and not a tour. The last time Durban hosted a concert of this magnitude was in 2012.

"This has been in the planning for three years and it is finally happening. We are getting other deejays coming on board as well," said Naidoo.

He said they together with The Sharks want fans to share in the nostalgia of the 80's as they go back in time.
