Who said being a socialite does not pay? Well, if that’s your way of thinking you are wrong, at least according Cape Town’s Liz Stone and Elena Pappas. The cousins were selected by MTV to be the hosts of the party guide show, My Super Sweet World Class.
The show takes viewers on a journey to the world’s most extravagant parties. Each week viewers get a front row seat as young socialities from anywhere in the world flaunt their big personalities and even bigger spending habits as they host a one-of-a-kind and sometimes over-the-top party in an exotic location.
“Actually, my cousin won this thing and asked MTV if we could do it together,” said Pappas who is a student and part-time model.
The two chose the theme A Magical Garden of Eden. With Pappas exposed to the high life in modelling and with Stone a fashion designer, there could perhaps not have never been a better pair to prepare a party like this.
“It was really stressful, but we are glad it all came out really well. There was a lot of work involved, but with the support of our friends, families, party planner Tam Lederly, illusionist Russell Fox and MTV we managed to make the event look as fantastic as we had hoped,” explained Pappas.
The venue was the beautiful Camps Bay watering hole, Café Caprice, situated against majestic Table Mountain. It was transformed into a garden-like party with an Eden atmosphere. The venue came complete with tempting apples, snakes and lanterns.
“Because these parties are held all over the world, there was a lot of pressure to have our party be among the best parties seen on MTV,” said a satisfied Pappas.
“We wanted everyone to see just how beautiful Cape Town is,” she continued.
Shark diving, crazy fashion designs, fortune tellers and more all formed part of the preparations for the cousins’ celebration. The best part of their party must have been the surprise personal video message from singer, Enrique Iglesias.
Other parties to look forward to include:
l Pro surfer Jason will throw the biggest, coolest party the Hamptons has ever seen. “J-Po”, as he’s known to his friends, aims to take his rock star status to a new level, with help from his best friend and party planner, Ryan.
Then there is Melody, who is the daughter of one of the Netherland’s best-known comedians and the ultimate party girl who is popular, sweet, and passionate about ballet. As a recent high school graduate, Melody’s parents are giving her at graduation bash to celebrate her hard work.
