Listen, if there is one thing Tyla did in 2025, it was refuse to give us a moment to breathe.
Every time we thought she might slow down, she was already on another stage in another country, dropping a new song, or casually breaking yet another record like it was just part of her weekly routine.
So before we wrap up the year and pretend we’ve emotionally recovered from all of this, let us take a quick trip through some of Tyla’s biggest moments of 2025.
Think of it as a highlight reel filled with music, fashion, viral wins and sold-out arenas from the beginning of the year straight into December.
The princess of “popiano” carried 2025, and she kicked off strong. Just a couple of weeks into the year 2025, the multi-award-winning singer and songwriter was already making waves.
“Billboard Women in Music” announced that she would receive the Impact Award in March 2025.
And she was fresh from signing a major endorsement deal with Nike. The “Push 2 Start” hitmaker's influence went beyond music, as she was appointed to the committee of the prestigious Met Gala for later in the year.
Tyla also teamed up with Shaun Paul for “Push 2 Start”, a fan-favourite track that initially appeared as an additional song on the deluxe version of her self-titled album, “Tyla +”.
By March, Tyla was draped in Jean Paul Gaultier, celebrating her British Vogue March 2025 cover at a Paris Fashion Week event with Chioma Nnadi and other industry elites.
She also featured in H&M's spring 2025 collection with her younger sister Sydney Seethal, who would pose as her stunt double because of how much they look alike.
In April, the South African star lit up the Coachella stage in her first-ever appearance in California. She had two performances lined up, and it was one of the biggest moments of her career, with her siblings showing up all the way from Mzansi.
In June, Tyla dropped the visuals for her highly anticipated single 'Bliss', and she served looks along with emotions.
The global star then broke barriers as the first African host of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
In the same month, she teased her follow-up single “Is It”, which fans dubbed the “European summer anthem”, further proving her music transcends borders and seasons.
July brought “We Wanna Party”, Tyla’s four-track mixtape that delivered serious party vibes, featuring hits like “Dynamite” with Wizkid, “Mr Media” and “Is It”.
She was later announced as part of the Global Citizen Festival line-up alongside Shakira, The Weeknd, Ayra Starr and Mariah the Scientist.
August was another milestone as Spotify named Tyla one of the leaders of its 2025 South African Global Impact List, alongside DJ Maphorisa. Her songs “Show Me Love”, “Bliss”, and the “Push 2 Start” remix with Sean Paul all made waves internationally.
She also featured on Teyana Taylor’s album “Escape Room”, collaborating with Jill Scott on “Pum Pum Jump”, which fans eagerly anticipated.
September was all about awards. Tyla continued to win in Afrobeats categories internationally despite her music being rooted in Amapiano, highlighting her “popiano” sound.
She also made her mark on the US charts, with her feature on Cardi B’s “Nice Guy” ranking as the album’s top track on Billboard.
October was filled with recognition and teasers. Her global hit “Water” was named one of Rolling Stone’s “250 Greatest Songs” of the 21st Century, and she gave fans “Chanel” fashion moments.
She was also featured in Glamour UK’s Women of the Year issue, sharing her phone secrets, late-night bubble baths, and international travels.
Her “We Wanna Party” Asia tour began, with shows in Thailand and the Philippines selling out, marking her as the first African artist to achieve such milestones in both countries.
November capped the year with her earning a 2026 Grammy nomination for “Push 2 Start”, which may add yet another accolade to her impressive trophy shelf.
The beginning of December saw her India debut at the “Indian Sneaker Festival”, where she mesmerised over 50 000 attendees and was even dubbed as the new “Desi Queen”.
From international arenas, studio sessions to award shows, 2025 was a year of firsts, wins and record-breaking moments for Tyla.
Let’s be real, there is no slowing down anytime soon for the superstar.
