YFM seems to have ushered in a new wave, and with it comes fresh talent set to hit the airwaves soon. Former podcaster and reality star Munaka Muthambi is one of the new voices listeners will now be hearing on the station.

Muthambi recently shared a vlog on her Instagram showing the documentation of her journey to securing the gig, giving a real-time look at how it all came together. The video starts with her speaking to herself, almost like a pep talk before the big moment.

“Hi Munaka, it’s your future self. Actually, no, the present. You are going to an interview at YFM today. I hope you make it. I think you will because darling, it’s you. But also, I do believe that God has a plan for you over there,” she said.

The vlog then follows her through the process, including recording her demo in February 2026. After wrapping up the session, she shared an update.

“So guys, I just finished shooting my demo. I think it went well. I had a good session. If God allows, it’s going to happen. But your girl could be on the radio, so we’ll see.”

Her desire to join YFM has been there for some time, as she spoke about how long she’s been manifesting the moment in the clip.

“I really, really, really, really, really want to be a part of YFM. I want to. I’ve been manifesting radio for like the past year and a half. If this doesn’t work out, I will never do it again.”

Well, Muthambi’s manifestation came all the way through as the video ended with a confirmation that she’s officially joined the station.

Ever since her exit at the "Piano Pulse" podcast (now known as Music Pulse), the 24-year-old media personality has been making big career moves.

She recently launched her brand agency Viral Afrika, which focuses on aligning brands with the right creators. Among other things, the agency aims for strategic influence more than popularity.

Muthambi is not the only new name linked to this possible shift. DJ Sliqe and Roiii, as well as DJ Tshegu, Lerai and Uncool MC have also been introduced as part of the new intake.

At this stage, YFM has not confirmed whether this signals a full new lineup or what roles each of the new additions will take on, but the station’s Instagram feed points to a refreshed sound and direction.
