The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is no stranger to evolution. Since its inception, there has been constant growth and development into the festival we know and love today. What has since grown into Africa’s grandest gathering proudly brings the best of local and international artists to the shores of the Mother City.

Now, ahead of its 23rd edition, another step in the evolution of the CTIJF takes place. The festival expands beyond the stage once again through a ground-breaking collaboration with Tourvest Destination Management (TDM), a division of Tourvest Holdings, Africa’s leading integrated tourism group.

This partnership introduces a series of well-curated, all-in-one experiences designed to transform the CTIJF weekend into a cultural journey. Luxury travel is now blended with music, a view of local heritage and, most importantly, seamless logistics. This new offering aims to reshape how festival-goers experience one of the continent’s most iconic music events.

At the heart of this collaboration are bundled packages that combine festival access with accommodation, cultural exploration and transport. For those looking for simplicity and ease, the Ticket + Wheels option includes festival entry alongside return airport transfers and shuttles to and from the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Packages range from a Day Pass + Wheels option at R2,140 per person to a Weekend Pass + Wheels package priced at R2,920, with shuttles operating from 8am to 9pm throughout the festival weekend. Tickets are delivered digitally, ensuring a smooth, no-fuss experience from arrival until the encore of the festival.

Accommodation is also part of the CTIJF and TDM collaboration. TDM’s Ticket + Bed packages pair festival tickets with two nights’ stay at selected hotels across Cape Town, catering to both general access and premium guests. For those seeking a more elevated experience, VIP options include the Jazz Café Weekend Pass, which offers red-carpet access, entry to all stages, a dedicated cash bar, gourmet buffet dining and barista-style coffee. The VIP Jazz Ensemble package builds on this with extended hospitality inclusions, positioning itself as the ultimate way to experience the festival in comfort and style.

Beyond the music, there is a strong emphasis on culture and community. One of the standout offerings is the Jazz Township Experience, part of the broader Ticket + Experience range. Central to this is the Music Heritage Tour in Langa, Cape Town’s oldest township. This showcases South Africa’s rich musical history through guided walks, community engagement and visits to key cultural spaces, including a world-class music academy supported by international artists such as Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, Zakes Bantwini, Msaki and Black Coffee.

To round off the weekend, festival-goers can opt for half- or full-day experience excursions to some of the Western Cape’s most iconic destinations, including Table Mountain, Cape Point, the Cape Winelands and Hermanus. Airport shuttle services and private transfers are also available, allowing guests to move through the city with ease.

The result is a festival that goes beyond performances, positioning the Cape Town International Jazz Festival as a gateway into the music, culture and soul of the city itself.

More information on the curated experiences is available via the new TDM x CTIJF platform.
