Durban artist Darrien Luke has officially released his latest single and music video, “WOZA”, marking a new moment in his journey as a singer, songwriter, dancer and actor.

Born Darrien Luke Samuel and raised in Chatsworth, he continues to build a name for himself by blending emotional storytelling with dance-driven production.

“‘WOZA’ is more than just a dance track. It is an invitation,” he said.

“It is about calling someone closer, calling love closer, calling good energy into your life.”

The amapiano and afro-urban 3-Step track is accompanied by a music video filmed along the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Set against coastal scenery, the visuals celebrate rhythm, movement and cultural fusion.

Actress Phindile Ntuli stars as the female lead, bringing a strong screen presence to the storyline.

Director and co-producer Keveshan Govender said the team set out to capture a feeling.

“With ‘WOZA’, we wanted to create something that feels alive. We wanted to celebrate love, rhythm and South African culture in a modern way,” he explained. “The North Coast gave us the perfect canvas. Darrien brought authenticity and heart to every frame.”

Govender added that the visual direction was intentional. “We aimed for something bold and stylish but still honest. The choreography, the locations and the styling all had to reflect the sound of the song.”

Blending the bounce of amapiano with Afro-urban 3-Step influences, the song showcases Luke’s vocals over a dance beat designed to move crowds.

The single also reflects his position as a South African Indian artist carving space within the mainstream amapiano genre.

“I am proud to represent my roots while embracing the amapiano movement,” Luke said. “This song is for everyone who wants to move, feel good and celebrate who they are.”

Following the release, he shared his gratitude with fans and collaborators.

“This project was a labour of love. We pushed boundaries, stayed up late and created something I am proud of.”

He also praised his team.

“A huge shoutout to director and producer Keveshan Govender and our DOP Dwayne James. To the production team and every crew member who braved the heat and long hours, thank you. This does not happen without you.”
