If you haven't checked out Tyler Perry's latest romance, "Ruth & Boaz", yet, you're missing out on more than just a touching story.

There's a lot to admire, especially Boaz's good looks, but let's dive into what truly makes this film special beyond its eye-catching cast.

At the heart of the Netflix film is Ruth Moably (Serayah), a talented singer dating Naomi’s (Phylicia Rashad) son, Marlon (Chaundre Hall-Broomfield).

Ruth receives an incredible opportunity from a Grammy-winning producer, but the music she's been performing leaves her spirit feeling empty.

Previously, Ruth and her singing partner, Breana (Nijah Brenea), used to write powerful songs about love and social issues, but in pursuit of fame, they shifted their focus to themes of wealth and power.

Ruth decides to back down from the eight-figure recording deal - but this comes at a cost to her loved ones.

Tragedy strikes when Marlon and his father Eli (Gregalan Williams) are killed during a carjacking.

Ruth’s manager, Syrus (James Thomas), who is behind the deaths, tries to manipulate her into staying in Atlanta to fulfil her contract and pay back all the money that he has poured into her, but it’s too much for the young singer.

So, to escape Syrus, Ruth boards a bus with Naomi to Tennessee, and although Naomi is grieving and doesn't want Ruth with her, their connection proves essential for both of them.

In a twist of fate, Ruth meets Boaz, an old family friend of Naomi's, who turns out to be just the person Ruth needs to heal and rebuild her life. Boaz is filled with integrity and kindness.

Ruth's past catches up to her eventually, and she must tell the truth.

This film reminds us that even in difficult times, there is always hope and the promise of new beginnings.

An appearance by the iconic Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Jermaine Dupri adds to the film's appeal.

Kudos to Perry for crafting a film that not only entertains but also inspires.

"Ruth & Boaz" is a gem that deserves a watch, offering both laughter and tears along the way.

Rating: 4/5 **** a standout film with exceptional qualities.
