Lloyiso will bring The Lloyiso Experience to Durban with the staging of “The Elephant In The Room” at People's Park at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, December 20.

The event arrives after what he describes as a long period of closed doors and repeated attempts to bring the show to the city.

He told “Independent Media Lifestyle” that the Durban show had been in planning for more than a year.

“After many closed doors, this opportunity has arrived at the perfect time,” he said.

“I have spent more than a year trying to plan a Durban leg of ‘The Elephant in the Room’ tour because I wanted to give the Durban audience what I call The Lloyiso Experience.”

He explained that the process involved many requests to potential partners who could support the show.

“My team and I knocked on many doors in search of partners who could help bring the show to life,” he said.

“After repeated rejection, we decided to take matters into our own hands, and by the grace of God, we are able to finally pull it off.”

Lloyiso said that Durban holds personal meaning for him.

“Durban is close to my heart. I have family and friends here, and that makes this show important to me,” he said. “I am excited because this will be my first solo show in Durban, and it is also the biggest show I have ever done.”

Fans can expect a set that includes his well-known emotional ballads, as well as his popular dance tracks. The show will include “Real Love", his collaboration with Martin Garrix, which topped the Dance Radio Charts and gained millions of views on TikTok.

The performance will also present his recent work, including the single “Scary", produced by Grammy winners Paul Phamous and Ethan Sneiderman.

Lloyiso (born Loyiso Gijana) grew up in the outskirts of Gqeberha and has built a career as a vocalist, songwriter and producer.

He first came to national attention in 2015 when he competed on Season 11 of “Idols South Africa" and finished in the top five.

His performances, including his rendition of “Lay Me Down” by Sam Smith, made him a favourite among viewers and helped establish the foundation of his career.

In March 2023, he released his debut EP titled “Seasons”. The project includes the title track “Seasons”, which became his breakout single and earned him a South African Music Award (Samas) for Best Pop Album.

Lloyiso said that the Durban show is a continuation of that journey and a chance to share his work with an audience that has supported him from the beginning.
