Our Stories, Our Voices

One of Durban’s favourite storytellers, Cherry the Clown (Adi Paxton) and the Creative Children Arts Team (CCAT) are set to light up the stage for a one-day-only spectacular.

"Our Stories, Our Voices - A Children’s Theatre Musical" blends clowning, puppetry and traditional Zulu folklore into a vibrant multidisciplinary feast.

The production is the heart-driven result of five years of dedicated outreach with youth from St Martin’s and St Theresa’s Children’s Homes, alongside the eDwaleni program.

The show features at-risk youth performing original stories of resilience and creativity alongside seasoned professionals.

Storyteller and singer Qhwanelentombi Mkhize fronts the production, backed by original music from rapper Siyabonga Mkhize and musician Dave Arnold.

Directed by Paxton and Vusi Makhanya, with choreography by Jabu Siphika of Flatfoot Dance Company, the show is a powerful celebration of youth finding their voice and reclaiming their narratives.
