KZNPO 2026 Summer Season

The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra returns this month for a spectacular two-concert 2026 Summer Season.

"We reach out to music lovers in Durban and across KZN, as we announce our new Summer Season. We welcome the season’s guest artists, who join our resident musicians in performing a roster of masterworks that will engage and enchant our dedicated KZNPO audience," said Bongani Tembe, KZN Philharmonic’s chief executive and artistic director.

On Thursday, March 5, maestro Yasuo Shinozaki leads a French-themed evening featuring Canadian cello prodigy Bryan Cheng. Highlights include both of Saint-Saëns’s virtuosic cello concertos and Schubert’s "Unfinished" Symphony.

On Thursday, March 12, conductor Conrad van Alphen takes the podium for a night of Fauré, Beethoven, and Chopin. Renowned pianist Ludmil Angelov will showcase his expertise with Chopin’s "Grande polonaise brillante".
