To commemorate the day of celebrating love, media personality Kim Jayde had some of the local celebrities spilling on their worst date experiences.

Celebrities, just like the rest of us, have their fair share of dating scars from their dating horror stories from the past.
From being coerced into paying for lunch to finding out you were never the only one, heartbreak, unfortunately, does not discriminate, not even when you are famous.
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, a time usually reserved for loved-up posts and soft launches, especially on social media, South African celebrities opened up about their horror dating stories in a vlog posted by TV host Kim Jayde, and it was jaw-dropping but not surprising, to say the least.
Social media personality Queen Laila shared how she went on what she thought was a cute date, only to leave feeling like she’d unknowingly signed up as the guy’s personal photographer for content creation.
Doctor Karishma Ramdev Mouton spoke about dating someone for two years and travelling to Italy with him, only to find out after breaking up with him that he had been talking to another woman during the trip. Not before, not after. During.
Then there was content creator and entrepreneur Lisa Madibe, who went on a date with a guy who opted to choose a restaurant because he was hungry, then slid the bill to her across the table when it arrived.
Shameless behaviour, if you ask me.
Former Miss South Africa runner-up Ayanda Thabethe’s story was a bit similar to Madibe’s nightmare date. The guy dared to show up without a wallet and fully expected to be sorted out because she was on Miss South Africa, which I assume to him meant that Thabethe was monied.
At the end of the vlog, Jayde threw in her own horror experience, recalling dating a man for months, believing it was something real, only to be dumped at Ocean Basket. Ouch!
To all the ladies who have been asked out on a date for Valentine’s Day, be extra careful and look out for any of these signs.
You wouldn’t want to be caught paying for a date you were asked out on and had no plans of paying for.
