Reality TV star Nelisa Ntabeni is celebrating a major milestone in her love story, following a successful lobola ceremony that marks her journey towards becoming Mrs Khosa.
āA man who kept his promises and honoured my name and my family name,ā Ntabeni said, reflecting on her partner Themba Khosa.
Khosa recently sent his uncles to Ntabeniās family home in the Eastern Cape, formally initiating the traditional marriage process.
The former Married at First Sight: South Africa couple shared glimpses of the special day on TikTok, where Ntabeni posted a heartfelt video capturing the celebration.
Dressed in traditional attire, she is seen dancing joyfully alongside her family after the successful negotiations.
āA beautiful day with family, culture and love š¤ Grateful for moments like these that remind me marriage is not just about two people⦠Itās about families coming together. Makoti life looks good on me,ā she wrote.
Social media users quickly flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages, praising the couple for making their relationship work beyond reality television.
Many noted how rare it is for couples from the show to thrive after the cameras stop rolling.
Ntabeni and Khosa met during season two of Married at First Sight: South Africa, a high-stakes social experiment where strangers are matched by experts and marry upon first meeting.
The show documents their journey as they navigate married life, therapy sessions and cultural expectations.
Their relationship, however, was not without challenges. During the show, Khosa faced scrutiny after it was revealed that he had previously been married.
Despite the controversy, the pair appear to have built a strong foundation, with their relationship growing steadily since the show ended.
Speaking about her journey, Ntabeni previously shared that faith played a crucial role in her decision-making process.
She revealed that she spent time praying and fasting, seeking clarity before committing fully to the relationship.
āI also took time to reflect, reminding myself that marriage takes patience and grace. I realised I couldnāt control every outcome, but I could be honest and give my best effort,ā she said.
With lobola negotiations successfully concluded, the coupleās love story continues to resonate with fans, proving that sometimes reality TV can lead to real-life happily ever afters.
