Miss SA 2024 Mia le Roux recently shared the process of designing her “dream engagement ring” with her fans.

On Sunday, January 8, the beauty queen shared a video explaining that she has a new and upgraded engagement ring that she designed along with her fiancée, Luke Tenoever.

“Luke told me that he would really love for us to go commission and design a bespoke ring together,” she said in the video.

Le Roux said that she chose a stunning and sparkling diamond ring with a thin gold band.

The model added that although she cherishes the first ring that she was proposed with because it holds so much meaning for them, and it marked their “forever chapter”, she was excited to design the second ring.

In July 2025, Le Roux announced that she is engaged and also showcased her gorgeous emerald green diamond ring with a gold band.

On Monday, January 9, she shared another post with a series of pictures as she revealed the huge diamond ring.

“What a beauty - a hidden halo oval diamond ring. Is she not a dream? @luke_tenoever I cannot wait when it is time for our wedding bands,” she captioned her post.

Why engagement rings are more than just aesthetics

An engagement ring is more than just having a huge diamond ring on your finger to show off; it holds sentimental value not only to your partner but also to your love story because it is a symbol of love and commitment.

Even though we see a rising trend in men proposing with huge diamonds, engagement rings are more than that.

According to a blog post by Charles & Colvard, a jewellery company, engagement rings are a reminder of loyalty and choosing your partner regardless of the obstacles you come across as a couple.

“They represent the commitment between two individuals to stand by each other's side through thick and thin.

“The ring serves as a constant reminder of the love and promises made. It symbolises trust, loyalty and the foundation on which a future family will be built,” they wrote.
