Police have arrested a man in the Durban city centre on a charge of drug dealing and possession of drugs.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Jay Naicker said routinely patrolling officers received a tip-off on Friday, that a transaction involving cocaine was to made at midday, in a parking lot near Addington Hospital. He said a team of officers immediately reacted and kept the location under surveillance.
Naicker said soon after the deal was complete, the authorities pounced on the man and apprehended him.
He was found with about 100 ecstasy tables worth an estimated value on the street of R3 000.
“The drug dealer was promptly arrested and taken to the Point police station where he was formally charged for dealing in drugs and detained,” Naicker said. - IOL
