A Ntuzuma man has appeared in court for the murder of his wife.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said the man handed himself to the police station accompanied by his brother. He also brought with him the firearm believed to have been used in the fatal shooting of the 36- year-old woman last Tuesday.
“She sustained two gunshot wounds on the head and neck and was certified dead at the scene. The motive for the attack is unknown,” said Zwane.
'Criminal' cops named and shamed
The firearm was found to be unlicensed and was sent for ballistic tests to determine if it was used in the commission of any other crimes.
Zwane said the man appeared at the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court on Monday where the case was postponed for March 6. He will remain in custody.
