Having a blast in the harbour and spreading joy after his recent sailing triumph, sailor Minenhle Ngcobo is pictured relishing Durban’s scorching weather.

HAVING a blast in the harbour and spreading joy after his recent triumph, sailor Minenhle Ngcobo is pictured relishing Durban’s scorching weather.

After a busy summer sailing season, Ngcobo and his crew have just returned to home waters after earning a third place at the University Sports South Africa (USSA) Sailing Regatta this week.

Point Yacht Club’s sailors will be going on a festive break before hitting the water for an action packed 2026. Apart from their competitive calendar, the club look forward to hosting Round the World sailor, Mark Sinclair aka Captain Coconut who participated in two Golden Globe Races and one Ocean Globe Race when he arrives on his westward voyage to the UK.

Then the local fleet hope to create a colourful flotilla for the magnificent Queen Anne who will be sailing into Durban early in the new year. The first of two Queen’s visits in Durban next year with Queen Mary 2 arriving in early April.
