Municipal officials stressed that the closure is aimed at protecting public health and will remain in effect until water quality tests indicate that it is safe for recreational use.
“All other beaches, including those in the central, southern and northern regions of the city, are unaffected and remain open to the public,” the municipality said.
The City added that beach water quality samples are collected weekly, with results shared with the public as soon as they become available.
Residents and holidaymakers have been urged to stay informed by checking official updates before visiting beaches, especially following periods of heavy rain.
