IN an inspiring display of academic achievement, Verulam Secondary School has announced an impressive 99% pass rate in the recent National Senior Certificate exam.
The remarkable accomplishment by the class of 2025 underscores the school’s long-standing commitment to educational excellence, marking yet another successful year since its establishment 74 years ago.
Among the notable highlights of this year's results is the school’s impressive 82% bachelor’s pass rate and a total of 228 subject distinctions.
However, it was Cayden Reece Packreeappen’s exceptional performance that stole the spotlight. Not only did he emerge as the top learner at Verulam, but he also clinched the first position in the Pinetown District and ranked third across the entire KwaZulu-Natal province. His stellar achievement included the highest mark in physical science in the province, a superb 98%.
The management at Verulam Secondary School expressed their immense pride and gratitude towards both the learners and staff for their unwavering commitment to maintaining high academic standards.

Since 2017, Verulam Secondary has maintained an impressive pass rate exceeding 93%.
