Parliament’s Transport Committee to probe delays in GO!Durban BRT project

The Portfolio Committee on Transport has expressed concern over the delays in Durban's Integrated Public Transport Network System (IPTNS), the Go!Durban project.

The Portfolio Committee on Transport will today meet with the eThekwini Municipality on its challenges regarding implementation of the Integrated Public Transport Network System (IPTNS), the GO!Durban project.

The committee is concluding its week-long oversight visit to KwaZulu-Natal where it conducted inspections on infrastructure projects in the province.

The Durban IPTS programme is long overdue and had been besieged with challenges.

Chairperson of the committee, Donald Selamolela, said the Durban IPTS programme is long overdue and had been besieged with challenges.

“Infrastructure is the backbone of our economy and that the committee wants to witness firsthand the challenges of the integrated modal public transport in eThekwini,” said Selamolela.
