For five years, Halisi Afrique has been redefining South Africa’s lifestyle and experiential event scene, transforming gatherings into high-impact platforms that extend far beyond entertainment.

The brand’s purpose-driven approach has positioned events as engines of tourism, enterprise development, and youth opportunity within the country’s creative economy.

Founded in 2022 by hospitality entrepreneur Ndumiso Mncwabe, public relations strategist and tourism advocate Phindile 'Pru' Zulu, and marketing and sponsorship specialist Nolwazi Maselana, Halisi Afrique began as intimate curated gatherings and has grown into a respected lifestyle and experiential brand.

Over the past five years, the company has delivered sold-out, premium events blending fashion, food, sport, music, and hospitality, while creating meaningful economic opportunities for local suppliers and creatives.

Central to Halisi Afrique’s success is its partnership-led approach. The brand directly integrates small and medium-sized enterprises into its event value chain, ensuring that each experience stimulates broader economic participation.

Emerging and established chefs, photographers, content creators, event furniture and décor entrepreneurs, sound and production companies, beverage brands, and marketing professionals have all benefited from the platform.

“We are intentional about ensuring our events create opportunity,” says Phindile “Pru” Zulu. “For us, success is not only measured by ticket sales, but by how many young businesses grow with us, how many suppliers secure new contracts, and how effectively we position KwaZulu-Natal as a premium lifestyle destination.”

By prioritising local procurement and collaboration, Halisi Afrique has contributed to job creation, skills development, and business growth within KwaZulu-Natal’s tourism and events ecosystem. Many young creatives have leveraged the platform to build portfolios, secure repeat clients, and strengthen their market positioning.

Halisi Afrique has positioned its events as strategic drivers of tourism. Its flagship luxury marquee at the Durban July, hosted at the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse, has become one of Africa’s most sought-after hospitality experiences. The event showcases local suppliers, designers, chefs, and beverage partners to both domestic and international audiences while contributing to Durban’s hospitality economy.

Padel with Halisi has officially extended to Johannesburg and we are bringing the energy back home to Durban this March.

Beyond the Durban July, Halisi’s lifestyle-sport property, Padel with Halisi, blends wellness, networking, and curated hospitality. Set to take place in March across Durban and Johannesburg, the initiative fosters cross-provincial collaboration and national brand visibility.

Meanwhile, Bubbles in the Meander, hosted in KwaZulu-Natal’s Midlands, positions countryside tourism as a premium leisure experience, supporting accommodation providers, local producers, and destination marketing initiatives.

Collectively, these experiences contribute to visitor spend, supplier activation, and destination storytelling, reinforcing KwaZulu-Natal as a leading hub for cultural and experiential tourism.
