Sibongile Prudence Dlamini was arrested for the brutal murder of her husband, constable Banele Skosana, 32, of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD).

The widow of slain Ekurhuleni Metro Police officer Banele Skosana, 32, has been granted bail in the Springs Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Officer Banele Skosana, 32, was murdered on Friday, February 7, 2024, in Vilakazi Street in KwaThema, allegedly at the instruction of his new wife, Sibongile Dlamini, 42.
Dlamini is alleged to be the mastermind behind the murder and her co-accused 34-year-old Nhliziyozabantu Magwanyana have been nabbed for the brutal murder.
The duo are charged with premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
On Monday, Dlamini was granted R10,000 bail.
Constable Banele Skosana was gunned down.

According to evidence before the court, Skosana was offloading stock from his vehicle for a tuckshop he co-owned with his wife when he was ambushed by two unknown men who fired shots at him.
According to the Gauteng spokesperson for the Hawks, Warrant Officer Thatohatsi Mavimbela, the officer died on the scene and the gunmen fled the scene.

Magwanyana was arrested at a hostel in KwaThema on February 10.
Dlamini was arrested on February 10.

Previously, IOL reported that videos were trending on social media showing Dlamini crying hysterically during her husband’s memorial service.
The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department hosted the memorial service for their fallen colleague.
The grieving widow who was later arrested by police while she was on the mattress surrounded by family elders, was reportedly grasping onto pictures of her late husband at the time of the arrest.
Dlamini was preparing for her husband’s funeral alongside Skosana’s family members.
Pictures shared online showed celebrations on November 30 last year when Skosana had finished paying lobola for his wife. The couple reportedly have a two-year-old child and had been in a relationship for five years.
