Well done to the Ballito Pro 25 organisers and associates that ensured that this recent prestigious surfing event at Salt Rock Main Beach was a resounding success.
Congratulations to Durban’s Luke Thompson, who won the coveted men’s title, and the finalists in the junior and open categories for males and females.
The appreciative public, a true rainbow nation throng on all three days, was blessed with great surfing, good food and drink, lovely live music, and much fun in a safe and happy environment.
The vibrant performance of the music artists was an added bonus, with Squeal, R Warren, DJ Sox, Booshle G, and others excelling.
The adage that old is gold became a reality when Tree 63 (Rob Ellis) and other oldies such as Robin Auld and Ella Mental took to the stage and thrilled the festive crowd.
May the pristine event go from strength to strength. May the organisers and associates keep up the great work.
As an aside, organisers, I am available, deo volente, to do reasonable covers of eternal classics of all-time greats such as the Beatles, CCR, Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, Peter Frampton, Tracey Chapman, Rod Stewart, Michael Learns To Rock, Eagles, Bad Company, Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, Sipho Hot Stix Mabuse,Deep Purple, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Elvis Presley and Cliff Richard etc - at no cost - for the public benefit.
Fortunately I am multi-skilled and multi-talented, Soli Deo Gloria. I am an all-round amateur muso, with gospel, pop and rock being my top genres of choice.
Can one live without fun and good music? It’s impossible and unimaginable - God forbid! Blessings to all in Jesus's Almighty name. | SIMON T DEHAL Verulam
