After another tough draw and a single point to bank on Saturday against Polokwane City, Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi is still confident his team can finish inside the top 8.

Mngqithi was disappointed his team created so many good chances that went by without conversion — forcing them into a tight finish with only two games to go. The draw puts Polokwane City above Durban City and into sixth place for the first time, while Arrows occupy eigth place.

Mngqithi wants a better finish than eigth place, though, and believes the team can pull it off, despite their recent league form with three straight draws.

Mngqithi said breaking down the Polokwane defence was difficult because they are a good "low block team".

Three points from three matches is not the finish Mngqithi was hoping for, but it may be just enough to push them into the MTN8 next season.

"I am not happy with today. I believe we could have won but I have to appreciate the draw because some moments in the second half when we got desperate they could have stolen the game. They created some good situations but the reality is that we had better moments in the game.

"We forced them into their 18 yard box but we just didn't take our chances. Our decision making was not one of the best. There were two big instances where I think we could have scored but I think we had too many actions in and around their box. They were very resolute to sit back and not give us space," Mngqithi said.

Abafana Besthende have a chance to take 3 points next week against Chippa and will surely need to convert their chances or risk falling out of the top 8.

"I have to win them (last two games). I want to finish in a better position. I am sure I will finish in the top 8 but I want to finish in a better position inside the top 8," Mngqithi said.
