As the days get warmer and spring blooms, this means more people are outside. September comes alive with a number of vibrant concerts, festivals and performances from big international artists as well as that local flavour of Mzansi.

For all music enthusiasts, here’s why you should mark your calendars and create space in your schedules:

Kicking off the month is the highly anticipated Dru Hill All White Soul Session Concert. The first city to experience the R&B group is Cape Town on September 6 at the Grand Arena, followed by Pretoria at the SunBet Arena, Time Square on September 7 and an additional show at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on September 8.

The ‘In My Bed’ hit makers will be headlining the 2nd Annual All White Soul Sessions Concert, joined by the likes of Bongo Maffin and Afro-soul singer, Zonke Dikana.

For the ‘’Joburgers’’ get ready for the Galaxy 947 Joburg Day, at the Crocodile Creek Polo Club on September 7. With this heated line-up, the venue is sure to come alive featuring artists such as Young Stunna, Micasa, DJ Maphorisa and Sun-El Musician to name a few.

This annual gathering is all about bringing family and friends together for a memorable day of local talent and enjoyment. Make your life easy by packing light, avoid hard shell cooler boxes but picnic baskets and camping chairs are welcome.

On September 21 and September 22, the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival returns for its 11th year at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit and it’s not one to be missed. Celebrating South Africa’s 30 years of Democracy with the theme ‘’30 years of Creative Freedom’’ a tribute to the infinite creativity that defines Mzansi.

Janet Jackson and Jill Scott are set to headline the 11th edition of the festival joined by South African renowned artists such as Thandiswa Mazwai, Jazz legend, Sipho ‘’Hotstix’’ Mabuse, and local rapper Cassper Nyovest.

Hosted by Standard Bank, Joy Of Jazz is set to bring a spectacular night of jazz at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg. Celebrating its 25th anniversary with a jam-packed line up featuring international and local artists.

Mandisi Dyantyis, Brenda Mtambo and Grammy Award-winning jazz artist Chris Botti are amongst the musicians that will perform at the festival. The artists are set to perform across five different stages over the two days.

As the month wraps up R&B songstress, Keyshia Cole will be live at the Grand Arena, Cape Town on September 26. She performs at the Superbowl in North West on September 28 and her last show is set for Time Square, Pretoria on September 29.

The American singer will tour the three cities, offering an unforgettable night of music to her South African fans.
