“Dubai Bling” is back, and season three begins with all the drama and extravagance we’ve come to expect. But, let’s be honest, while the bling is still blinging, it’s not the same.
From the first episode, we’re knee-deep in feuds, fashion, and more plastic surgery than a Beverly Hills reunion. It's giving scripted, and the drama seems a bit recycled.
This season introduces new faces, including Jwana Karim and Mahira Abdel Aziz, who slip right into the chaos alongside veterans like Loujain "LJ" Adada, Zeina Khoury and the ever-dramatic duo, Safa and Fahad Siddiqui.
Let’s not forget DJ Bliss and Danya Mohammed, Farhana Bodi, and the ever-fabulous Mona Kattan. Ebraheem Al Samadi, with his tight outfits and penchant for stirring the pot, is also in the mix of course.
The tension between Ebraheem and Zeina is palpable, especially when he drops cheesy one-liners during their arguments. It’s like watching a big-budget soapie.
A lot of the season’s tension is built around a feud between LJ and Jwana, and apparently, it all started because LJ followed Jwana’s ex on Instagram.
Of course, Jwana blew it out of proportion.
Farhana and Safa’s tension escalates when Farhana refuses to greet Safa, who, in true “Dubai Bling” fashion, had been spreading gossip about the influencer renting her Birkin bags.
Ebraheem’s personal life is on the rocks, with his wife expressing frustration over their lack of time together, a fair gripe considering he’s often more present in the drama than at home. Don’t get me started on his corny lines.
His business relationship with Zeina also hits turbulent waters, leading to explosive confrontations that leave viewers wondering if any of it is real or just for the cameras.
While the show touches on real-life issues like divorce, co-parenting and health scares, these moments often get lost in the shuffle of superficial drama.
Fahad’s struggle with fat-shaming is one of the few authentic storylines but even that is overshadowed by the next big silly argument or fashion showdown.
Speaking of fashion, Safa’s dramatic farewell to her Lamborghini, complete with a full-on funeral and high-fashion black attire, is hands down one of the season’s most ridiculous moments.
“Dubai Bling” season three brings the glamour but the storylines are running on fumes. The personal struggles are overshadowed by the same tired feuds and fashion showcases. Even Danya’s chronic lateness has lost its charm.
∎ “Dubai Bling” is now streaming on Netflix.
