South African actress Pearl Modiadie is set to captivate audiences once again as she takes on the role of Ayanda Gumede-Williams in the upcoming legal drama series, "Law, Love and Betrayal."

The series, consisting of 13 episodes, is set to premiere on Showmax on September 5.

The show promises to be a captivating blend of law, love, and betrayal, leaving a significant impact on viewers.

Modiadie's character, Ayanda Gumede-Williams, is depicted as a ruthless and ambitious figure within the legal realm.

As the daughter of Gatsha, she strategically navigates the complexities of the legal profession, positioning herself as one of the most astute attorneys in the firm.

The actress expressed her enthusiasm for the series, highlighting the mixed nature of "Law, Love and Betrayal".

She emphasised that the show presents a captivating mix of elements, including law, love, and betrayal, appealing to audiences with varied interests.

“‘LLB’ has a mix of everything: law, love and a lot of betrayal. It will captivate those passionate about law and breathtaking cinematography as well as those drawn to complex love stories and strong ambitious women in the corporate world,” said Modiadie.

With a diverse cast of strong characters and a rich, multi-layered storyline, Modiadie is confident that this show will make a significant impact on South African viewers.

“It features strong characters who each stand out in their unique way, and the storyline is rich and layered. I’m confident it’s going to leave a huge impact on South Africa,” she said.

Joining Modiadie on this tv show is the renowned actor and tv presenter Nimrod Nkosi.

Nkosi portrays Gatsha Gumede, the founder of Gumede & Associates, where a power struggle over succession is developing.

“It’s a unique show set in the glitz and glamour world of law, generational wealth, and scheming,” said the actor.

"Law, Love and Betrayal" also delves into the riveting story of a tough township lawyer, Gugu Mabaso - portrayed by Dineo Rasedule - compelling her way into a polished, family-owned firm in Sandton.

Within the firm, secrets abound, and tensions rise as family members battle for control and dominance.

“While obviously fictionalised, this show isn’t make-believe; we’re quoting real acts and cases. I learned so much while filming the show; it was eye-opening to realise how little we know about the law,” said Rasedule.
