Actor Mathews Rantsoma has bid farewell to his character ‘Nhlamulo’ on the popular soap opera "Scandal!".
News of his departure from the show came as a surprise for fans of both Mathews and "Scandal!". The actor had become the fan’s favourite character, making his exit unexpected and bittersweet for those who had grown attached to his presence on the screen.
In a post on Instagram, Rantsoma who played the character of Nhlamulo Maseko since joining the soapie in 2021, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fans and fellow cast members who embraced his character from the very beginning.
“To everyone that supported the character from the beginning. Loved it through time and never wanted to leave its side. Am forever grateful for this gift you guys gave me. Even when it was difficult to play the character you were there. Mostly in the characters most happiest moments, you were there. I won’t forget you, I won’t forget that. I love you all. And thank you for everything,” the actor said.
With his departure, Rantsoma acknowledges the impact that the role of Nhlamulo had on his career and the lasting memories he created during his time on the show, thanking everyone who contributed to making his time on Scandal! a memorable experience.
“Words fail me. emotions are galore. Memories will always be a part of me. Most of all, the love I have for this thing we do, it’s not one that will die soon,” he said.
As he bids farewell to this role, Rantsoma leaves behind a lasting impression on the show and a void in the hearts of his fans.
