With the annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival almost here, get ready for the Free Community Concert taking place on Tuesday at Greenmarket Square at 4.30pm.
While this event usually takes place on the Wednesday before the festival, because of the public holiday, Human Rights Day, organisers espAfrika took this into account to give everyone a chance to enjoy the concert.

This year’s concert is set to bring some of the best local and international performers to make for a magical open-air event.
To get things started, the CTIJF’s All Star Band, of young talented musicians from the CTIJF Music & Career workshops, will bring their youthful sound to the stage
Following them, espYoungLegends 2018 winner Jarrad Ricketts will be taking the stage, whose chart-topping hits are sure to get the crowd going.
Cape Town legend Alistair Izobell will bring a classic Capetonian flavour to the CTIJF stage, followed by Belhar’s R&B fusion songstress Claire Phillips.
Finishing off for the local acts, award-winning three-part a cappella group The Soil will razzle and dazzle the crowd with their township jazz, hip-hop and Afro-pop flavoured set. Closing the night, international acid jazz band Incognito will bring a slick set to the concert.
Festival director Billy Domingo says: “We are always excited to be able to stage this free community event. But in 2018, it is even more so, as we will be making Greenmarket Square the place to be on the eve of Human Rights Day.
"We expect the festive atmosphere to be bigger than ever, but I am asking everyone to party responsibly. Make sure you get to Greenmarket Square early, as this year festivities will begin earlier than usual.”
The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is a water-wise event. Concert-goers are reminded to please bring their own water to this free community concert, but bottled water will be available from vendors on Greenmarket Square.
