The stage is set for the 19th annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre tomorrow and Saturday.
There’s a stellar line-up of international and local acts, so make sure you don’t miss your favourite.
Below, we provide a breakdown of when and where some of the most sought-after artists will be performing.

This year’s festival features five stages – the Kippies, Basil “Manenberg” Coetzee, Rosies, Moses Molelekwa and Bassline stages.
The festival starts at 6.45pm tomorrow with doors opening at 6pm.
On the Kippies stage, Idols SA finalist Amanda Black starts proceedings followed by Nicholas Payton, Afro-Caribbean Mixtape, Trombone Shorty and ending with Mi Casa.
The Basil “Manenberg” Coetzee stage sees the Sekunjalo Delft Big Band getting the night going followed by N8N, acid-jazz band Incognito and ending with Alistair Izobell.
The Rosies stage opens with the Sekunjalo EduJazz Band followed by The Louis Banks Quartet, Mabuta, Keenan Ahrends Quintet ending with The Vijay Iyer Sextet.
At the Moses Molelekwa stage, Nicky Schrire starts the night with The Surge following her, then The Liberation Project Acoustic Band and Seu Jorge presents The Life Aquatic, a David Bowie tribute.
The Baseline sees three acts taking the stage. This includes Manny Walters, Jordan Raikei and house duo Black Motion. On Saturday night, the festival starts at 5pm with doors opening at 4pm.
At the Kippies stage, Mulatu Astatke gets the festival going followed by Simphiwe Dana, international superstar Corinne Bailey Rae and ending with The Boy’s Doin’ It, a celebration of Hugh Masekela’s life and music.
The Basil “Manenberg” Coetzee stage finds The Settlers High School Band opening the night followed by a capella trio The Soil, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Claire Phillips and ending with R=R=Now.
The Rosies stage sees Sisonke Xonti starting things off, then Nduduzo Makhathini: Inner Dimensions Collective, The Vijay Iyer Sextet, The Feya Faku Spirit Unit ending with Louis MoholoMoholo.
The Moses Molelekwa stage opens with Sibusiso Mashiloane followed by Masego, Billy Monama: The Grazroots Project and Miles Mosley ending the night.
EspYoungLegends winner Jarrad Ricketts starts off the night followed by Blinky Bill & Sibot’s AfroFunk Spaceship and Tank and The Bangas closing out the night.
Weekend passes for the festival are sold out, but day passes are still available at www.computicket.com at R750 per ticket.
