Cape Town - A host of top local and international artists entertained crowds on the first day of 18th installment of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival on Friday.
The Cape Town International Convention Centre plays host to the iconic two-day event which has become a fixture on the Cape Town tourism and entertainment calendar.
As usual, tickets were sold out way in advance, and thousands of music loving people converged on Cape Town for the spectacle which is organised by espafrika.
Headlined by US electro-pop trio En Vogue, the opening night saw performances by Afro-pop band Mango Groove, award-winning local musician Tsepo Tshola, US singer Gretchen Parlato, London-based producer and musician Tom Misch, and eccentric Dutch producer Jameszoo.
Drought-stricken Cape Town even got some rain on Friday night, but this did not deter jazz loving concert-goers from catching all the action on stages both inside and outside the venue.
