SAN FRANCISCO – Though Blitzboks' Siviwe 'Shakes' Soyizwapi tied with New Zealand's Joe Ravouvou for the most tries scored (6) in the Rugby World Cup Sevens at At&T Park in San Francisco, USA, at the weekend, he did not crack a nod in the Dream Team.
In fact, no South African or Fijian players made it to the Dream Team.
Ravouvou was named Player of the Tournament for his six tries across four games. He headlined the official tournament Dream Team along with fellow Melrose Cup winner Dylan Collier, chosen as one of the stand-out forwards.
Joining Collier up front are Tavite Veredamu of France and England workhorse Phil Burgess.
The latter is one of three runners-up named in the squad along with Harry Glover and England captain Tom Mitchell. Josefa Lilidamu of Japan rounds out the backs.
