Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday completed the deal to sign goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy.

With veteran Itumeleng Khune headed towards the exit following the expiration of his contract, Kaizer Chiefs have moved fast and added another shotstopper to their squad.

The Glamour Boys already have Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Peterson in their squad, and it remains to be seen who will be given the regular starting job.

The 24-year-old Ntwari is the number one for his national team Rwanda, and impressed last season as he played a starring role in helping TS Galaxy finish sixth in the league.

Last week, Chiefs’ sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr said the club’s activity in the transfer market was not yet complete as he promised that new faces would be brought in to improve the squad.

“We’re definitely not done in the transfer market because there are some glaring positions in the squad that we need to reinforce,” Motaung said at the club’s jersey launch on Thursday.

“We have a young squad at the moment in time. I think it’s a squad that needs a bit of experience, and a bit of quality. So, we are very mindful of the demands placed on what’s coming next season.

“So, to answer the question, we’re working behind the scenes, day and night to make sure that we reinforce, we need to reinforce, we’ve gotten a bit of a clear roadmap of the kind of player we need in what positions,” he said.

The club remain coy over the future of Khune, who feels he still has something to offer, despite a new contract being nowhere on the horizon.
