Well, that didn’t go according to plan.
Kaizer Chiefs were blown away 4-0 during Sunday’s Toyota Cup clash against Tanzanian side Young Africans in Bloemfontein.

The Tanzanian champions were simply too good as they delivered a knock-out punch that reminded the once-mighty Amakhosi that much work lays ahead if they are to be taken seriously again.
The game was new head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s first game on home soil, and the club’s fans had been keen to see the Tunisian tactician’s work after taking charge of the team.
It’s still early days, but they would have left the Free State Stadium wishing they’d stayed home instead.
After Young Africans broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Zimbabwean Prince Dube beat Brandon Petersen. Chiefs tried to get back into the game, but they were knocked right back. In stoppage time of the first half, Stephane Aziz Ki made it 2-0.
And, the second half didn’t start well for Nabi and his team. Clement Mzize made it 3-0, and not long after, Ki once again added to Chiefs’ woes when he made it 4-0.
After the fourth goal, Yanga seemed to take the foot off the pedal a little, and Chiefs looked to create a few chances. Unfortunately, the Tanzanian’s defence was solid, and nothing came of Amakhosi’s forays into the box.
