Celeste Ntuli Live

Award-winning local comedienne Celeste Ntuli is set to tickle the funny bone during her latest stand-up comedy act.

Affectionately known as the “the queen of Zulu comedy”, the 45-year-old’s show is set to have audiences laughing out loud.

Born in Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal, Ntuli made history when she became the first local female comic to record a one woman show DVD.

She broke into the industry back in 2005 when she performed her first comedy show in a church in Durban.

Ntuli became a finalist on season 2 of SABC 1’s reality competition television series “So You Think You’re Funny”.

This spurred her professional career into high gear and since then, she has been performing on some of the biggest comedy stages in the country.

This includes the “Blacks Only” comedy showcase, the SA Comic’s Choice Awards. She is also the first female comedienne to host a stand-up Zulu comedy show at the Durban Playhouse in 2011.

Meanwhile, in February 2022, Ntuli took her career international up a notch with a sold-out show at the Leicester Square Theatre in London.

Ntuli is also an actress and has starred in productions such as “Isibaya”, “10 Days in Sun City”, “Lockdown”, “Looking For Love” and “Trippin with Skhumba”.

Much of Ntuli’s material is of an honest and personal nature, earning her widespread acclaim and several accolades, such as winning the Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Soap in 2014.

She also won the Flying Solo Award as well as the Comedy G Award at the 2019 Savanna Comics' Choice Awards.
