In efforts to raise a nation of good men and bolster the fight against gender-based violence, SABC2 and Amatyma Wellness Network, in partnership with Radio 2000, have launched a new TV talk show, LikeTyma LikeNtwana, set to premiere on SABC 2, on August 1 at 8.30pm.

Amatyma Wellness Network was founded by well-known businessman TT MBha in 2020 with the aim of promoting physical, mental, and financial wellness among men.

The show, hosted by Mbha and Serame Mbha, explores father-son relationships, encourages open discussions, and aims to cultivate good men through paternity discovery and role modelling.

To celebrate the launch, the Amatyma Wellness Network, along with Primestars and the YouthStart Foundation, have also teamed up as part of the ‘What About The Boys?’ programme.

Within the ethos of the programme in #RaisingANationOfGoodMen, various organisations supported a drive to boost the self-esteem of Grade 12 boys as they tackle the hardest year of their high school era.

The ‘Matric Suit Drive‘ called on the corporate sector to help our boys look dapper at their matric dance.

Together, they will be hosting an exclusive event on Saturday, July 27, at the SABC M1 Studios in Auckland Park from 10am to 12pm.

A good suit transforms underprivileged matriculants’ self-perception and others’ perception, empowering them to embrace their future with confidence and optimism.

The 200 guests will comprise 100 boys from underprivileged schools in various townships and 100 adults from corporate, media, and donor entities.

It is explained that 100 suits will be handed over to the learners, generously donated by various individuals and organisations, including Markham (25 suits) and Subaru Southern Africa (R10 000 donation), as well as other supportive entities.

Guests will also get to watch an exclusive episode of the show before it airs on TV.

Mbha shared his excitement about the launch of the show and said: “We are thrilled to launch ‘LikeTyma LikeNtwana’ on SABC 2.

“This show is a passion project that aims to spark meaningful conversations and inspire positive change in our communities. We believe that by celebrating and learning from each other's experiences, we can build a brighter future for generations to come.”

Refiloe Mohale, general manager of the YouthStart Foundation, said: “In continuing our mission to empower the youth and continue the movement for change that is ‘What About The Boys?’ we welcome collaborations such as this with The Amatyma Wellness Network.

“Change is amplified by unity, and together we are raising a nation of good men to ensure that every child knows a lived reality of dignity and respect.”
