Cape Town - The Blue Train Park, just metres from the Atlantic Ocean in Mouille Point, with its backdrop of Lion’s Head, Signal Hill and Table Mountain, has been in operation for more than 55 years.
The miniature blue train holds many fond memories for generations of children.
The Rotary Club of Sea Point has taken an active role in the upkeep and management of the park. In co-operation with the City Of Cape Town and Mouille Point Ratepayers, the park is managed and operated as a multi-use adventure park with a number of interactive play structures aimed at children up to the age of 12.

The recently refurbished blue train will be open for business. Other activities for the little ones include jumping castles, an obstacle course and skating on the open air ice rink.
“One of Rotary’s major focus areas is early childhood development,” said Rotarian and organiser of the fun day, Tony Davidson. “We will have superb, experienced readers who will be bringing books to life in our story-telling area to encourage children to read. We also foster entrepreneurial projects, and Ground Up, an organisation which trains baristas, will be on hand to provide delicious coffee and muffins.”

Food stalls will also be on site, including Franky’s Diner which will be selling corn dogs and donating a portion of the proceeds to Rotary.
