In a recent episode of "The Kardashians", Kim Kardashian returned to Paris to testify in the trial against ten men charged over the 2016 jewellery heist that left her shaken, robbed of over US$10 million worth of valuables and convinced she might not make it out alive.

She described the night in gut‑wrenching detail: tied up, taped, held at gunpoint, convinced she’d be raped or killed.

“I absolutely thought I was going to die,” she told the court.

In 2016, my life changed forever,” Kardashian said during the episode, recalling her trip to Paris for Fashion Week with sisters Kourtney, Kendall and friends Simone Harouche and Stephanie Shepherd.

Harouche, who was in the hotel room below Kardashian when the robbers struck, said that she heard “sheer terror” in her voice. Kourtney recalled getting a text from Simone: “I just heard Kim say, ‘Take anything you want.’”

Kardashian revealed that she kept her mind on her sister during the ordeal, fearful the robbers might kill her, leaving Kourtney to find her lifeless.

“I said a prayer,” she remembered. “I always know that there’s a bigger plan, and it’s always God’s plan, and so you kind of make peace with that. No matter what, it’s going to be okay.”

But while the robbery was traumatic enough, Kim opened up about an even more cutting blow: disbelief from her then-husband, Kanye West.

“My ex-husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show,’ and had said that in front of all these people,” Kim said tearfully. “That was a knife to my heart.”

She went on: “Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you, that’s so close to you, that should know you, that should know how much that affected your life. It really bothered me. You don’t know who I am.”

West, 48, who was married to Kardashian at the time, reportedly cancelled a New York City concert mid-show when he learned of the robbery, citing a “family emergency,” before rushing to her side once she returned to the U.S. Still, his claim that she faked it for TV left a deep emotional mark.

It’s not just close friends or ex‑partners who doubted; there were also internet rumours, tabloids and conspiracy theory chatter suggesting the robbery was staged.

According to her 2016 libel lawsuit, one media outlet published baseless claims that she had faked the robbery and filed a fraudulent insurance claim.
