It has been a month since Anele Mthawelanga Mgudlwa (née Mdoda) and Bonelela “Buzza” James Mgudlwa got married.
To celebrate this milestone, the AbaThembu prince took to social media on Thursday, January 29, to reflect on their marriage and also praise his wife as they have reached one month of their royal wedding journey.
“Today, standing in front of the mirror and reflecting on exactly one month since we completed our traditional royal wedding journey, I see uMthawelanga continuing to shine with a heavenly glow,” he shared.
The lawyer further shared that he is blessed to be married to the beloved radio host, as she has respected their culture of wearing the IsiXhosa makoti attire.
“She wears the makoti attire (Amadaki) not out of obligation, but out of her deep love for our culture, my family, and this sacred journey we walk together. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ, for I am truly blessed beyond words,” he wrote.
The post was accompanied by a series of pictures showing Anele dressed in the beautiful Amadaki attire.
He continued to emphasise how blessed he is that his wife embraces their traditions fully and concluded the caption by praising Mdoda in her new name, Mthawelanga, which she was given by her in-laws.
“Her reflection is more than an image; it’s a reminder of her devotion. What a blessing to have a partner who doesn’t just join your life but embraces and enriches your every tradition.
“Say it with me ......Aaaaahhh Mthawelanga 👑Aaaaahhh Mthawelanga 👑Aaaaahhh Mthawelanga 👑,” he captioned his post.
Early January, Anele finally put a stop to the speculations surrounding her wedding and officially confirmed that she is now married by introducing herself with her new name, Mthawelanga, as she wore her traditional makoti attire worn by Xhosa brides.
The traditional marriage ceremonies for the couple were completed on December 29, 2025.
A few weeks ago, she explained on her radio show that what many thought was her actual traditional wedding last year was in fact a traditional ceremony called ukwamukelwa kwabakwenyana (accepting the groom's men).
The pictures of the ceremony were leaked by her friend, Khaya Dlanga, who posted pictures and videos of the ceremony but quickly deleted them.
However, it was too late because the pictures and videos were screen-recorded and started circulating on social media, leaving fans convinced that the couple chose to have a private ceremony.
